What's Next, Jif's Creamy Peanut Butter?!

For you avid readers of this blog (Bueller? Bueller?), you recall earlier this year I informed you of the increasing rate of theft involving one of my favorite foods...Haagen-Dazs ice cream, where the villains were stealing this little slice of heaven from retailers and selling them (minus the obvious "shrinkage" - after all, villains are human too!) at a discount to bodegas, not purchasing insurance coverage for spoilage or transit or any other cause of loss for that matter, and making a bundle in the process. Well, news of the genius of their endeavors reached to the far western part of our country and, as if targeting my personal favorites on my shopping list, the same thing is happening with the one healthy fat on my list...AVOCADOS!! It's true...a trio of California men were arrested recently after allegedly stealing $300,000 worth of avocados from their employer - the manufacturer - and selling them to distributors at a "healthy" profit.

No wonder those little green fruits (they have a seed after all) are so freakin' expensive...sometimes commanding $2 each...to cover the cost of stolen inventory! If I was Jiffy, I'd definitely be on the alert and consider increasing your crime limits! C'Mon Man!
